Established in 1985, Hughes & Coleman Injury Lawyers has dedicated over 35 years to helping injured people and their families recover compensation.
Our Story
Hughes & Coleman Injury Lawyers was founded in 1985 as a partnership between attorneys Lee Coleman and J. Marshall Hughes. In the early 1980s, both Lee and Marshall were practicing in separate firms in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Lee decided to leave the firm he was working for in 1984 to open his own practice. Shortly after, Marshall joined him, and Hughes & Coleman Injury Lawyers was founded with the sole purpose to help injured people and their families.
In 1985, Hughes & Coleman Injury Lawyers was focused on assisting injured victims solely in Kentucky. By 1990, Lee and Marshall noticed calls were coming from individuals in Tennessee who had been injured due to someone else’s negligence. As more and more out of state calls came in, the partners realized out of state victims needed their help, so they expanded the firm to include offices in Nashville, Tennessee, where they were able to serve and represent victims throughout the state.

Our mission is to help injured people and their families by going above and beyond courtroom duties to ensure that our clients can focus on healing after the traumatic events they experienced that led them to our door. We strive to treat our clients like family and remain available to assist them in their recoveries and throughout their cases.

The Hughes & Coleman Injury Lawyers firm has continued to grow over the last four decades, and so has our team of attorneys and business professionals. With over 100 team members across Kentucky and Tennessee, we have the ability to represent each client in the most delicate and professional manner to help them recover compensation for their injuries.
Our firm has dedicated attorneys and legal professionals for a wide variety of personal injury case types. Additionally, we have both a pre-litigation department and a litigation department with experienced attorneys and legal personal that assist clients across many case types, including but not limited to car wrecks, motorcycle wrecks, premise liability cases, and pedestrian accidents. For over a decade, Hughes & Coleman has partnered with WBKO in Bowling Green, Kentucky to honor and recognize a weekly “Hometown Hero” from South Central Kentucky. Individuals in the community can nominate anyone they believe has served the community in an honorable way.
A Hometown Hero is a person who makes a positive impact on the community. Whether it’s a simple act of kindness that helps another, or a consistent action to help and assist others. A Hometown Hero serves their community and neighbors selflessly and honorably.
If you’d like to nominate someone to be the next Hometown Hero, follow the link below and fill out the form. Each, we pick one of the nominees to be recognized on WBKO News. You can view the “Hometown Hero of the Week” segment on Tuesday’s 6 and 10 PM news broadcasts. Each month, we select a previous Hometown Hero of the Week and grant them the title of “Hometown Hero of the Month”. These monthly winners get recognized on WBKO and can choose a non-profit for us to donate $500 to on their behalf.
The Official Injury Lawyers of the Tennessee Titans
Since 1992, Hughes & Coleman Injury Lawyers have been advocating for injured victims across the state of Tennessee. In addition, we’ve been involved in the community in various ways, including attending local events and parades, and sponsoring local organizations in their endeavors.
In April of 2022, we partnered with the Tennessee Titans organization and became the Official Injury Lawyers of the Tennessee Titans.
We stand strong with Titans fans everywhere! Throughout each season, we host giveaways for tickets, gear, and other fan favorites on our Tennessee Titans Page.
Our partnership with the Titans centers on people, families, and community. For decades, Hughes & Coleman and the Tennessee Titans have independently helped the Nashville community. Now, together, we share the same goal and collaborate to do even more.
The Hughes & Coleman team is honored to be a part of such an awesome organization, and we can’t wait to see what the partnership can do for the future of Nashville.

Bicycle safety is of the utmost importance to our team at Hughes & Coleman and wearing a bike helmet is one of the easiest ways you can help prevent serious injury during your leisure time. We know that helmets can be expensive, so we decided to make them more accessible to our community members. Each of our 10 local offices across Kentucky (link to: 2.1 Kentucky) and Tennessee (link to: 2.2 Tennessee) offers bike helmets for only $5 each. Sizes range from Toddler to XL.
