Two women at a booth for Bristow Safety Day for Hughes and Coleman Injury Lawyers

Bristow Health and Safety Fair

August 20, 2024

On May 9th, the Hughes & Coleman team spent a beautiful spring evening at the 2023 Bristow Community Health and Safety Fair! The event is held each year at Ephram White Park in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Children from Bristow Elementary School, as well as families in the surrounding community, gathered to support safe choices, promote healthy habits, and encourage general wellbeing in our children. We spent the evening alongside other local organizations who share our goal of educating the public on best health and safety practices.

Each year, our team attends to discuss one of our favorite topics – helmet safety! Our crew was on site teaching children and their guardians about regular helmet use, the importance of a well-fitting helmet to reduce traumatic brain injuries (TBIs), and how to properly size a helmet.

We also discussed our $5 helmet program, which has been implemented at each Hughes & Coleman office throughout Kentucky and Tennessee. To help kids stay safe, our team purchases bicycle helmets and offsets a portion of the price to offer them to the community at a discounted rate of $5. Each helmet is CPSC-certified, and they range in size from toddler to extra-large. Our team members are also trained to fit your child with the helmet that is best suited for them. Through offering this service, we hope to encourage regular helmet use and reduce the risk of serious injury in children.

Following a fantastic performance by the Bristow Bouncers jump rope team, the Hughes & Coleman crew ended the night by raffling away free helmets to children in attendance. We appreciate all of the work Bristow Elementary staff, as well as the Bristow Family Resource Center, put into this event each year to make the evening both fun and educational. Thank you for another fantastic year!
